ESC Research Grants - Now Closed

Research Grants of €25,000 each to conduct specialised research in a European country

These grants are awarded to medical graduates at any stage in their career but before obtaining a permanent, senior staff or consultant post, or for science graduates with research experience up to Junior Investigator, Lecturer, Assistant Professorship or equivalent level, whose work has been, or is, related to cardiovascular research. Applications open mid-September and close on 31 January each year.

Young Investigators Awards - ESC Congress

Five awards of €2,000 and 15 awards of €1,000: the prestigious Young Investigators Awards offer a unique opportunity for young investigators who have submitted their research to ESC Congress to expose their most innovative and novel research to the scrutiny of panels of renowned experts in the specific fields during ESC Congress. Winners and finalists are financially rewarded.

ESC Grants for Medical Research Innovation 2015 – 2017

Five research grants of up to €400,000 each, were awarded to research projects running no longer than 18 months.

These grants were awarded to fund innovative ground-breaking projects in the following fields of cardiology: Thromboembolic Disease (general), Atrial Fibrillation, Stroke, Deep Vein Thrombosis/Pulmonary Embolism, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Coronary Artery Disease and/or Peripheral Artery Disease.

Association for Acute CardioVascular Care

Research prize in acute cardiovascular care

Leveraging research into the field of Acute Cardiovascular Care, the ACVC Research Prize is a competitive highly prestigious annual prize for unpublished research in the field.  The winner (Best abstract) will get a prize of €3,000, including the award, a diploma, free registration for the next ACVC congress, the opportunity to present at the congress in an oral abstract session.

European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI)

EACVI Research grants

One year grant of €30,000 to help young candidates under 40 years old in obtaining research experience in the field of non-invasive imaging modalities in a highly ranked academic centre.

European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI)

EAPCI Fellowship grants programme – now closed.

European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA)

EHRA 2020 - Travel Grants

These travel grants will be awarded to presenters under 40 years old, with an accepted abstract for EHRA 2020 Congress in Vienna. Each travel grant will be made up of:

  • Free registration for EHRA 2020
  • €240 towards travel expenses (transferred to the grantee after the congress)

Application via an e-form will open after the abstract result announcements in December. Results will be announced directly by email to the 20 selected presenters in early January. Learn more

Up to €25,000 for one grant per year to provide young investigators belonging to the Young Thrombosis Researchers Group with the opportunity to network and develop collaborations within the field of thrombosis in clinical research or in basic science.

Mobility Travel Grant

The objective of the Mobility Travel Grant is to strengthen relations between Research Institutions of different European countries. The ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology & Microcirculation is proud to offer Mobility Travel Grants of €2,500 to selected applicants.

ESC Working Group on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology

Scientific Exchange Grant

The objective of the EWGCCE Scientific Exchange Grant is to strengthen relations between Research Institutions of different European countries. The ESC Working Group on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology is proud to offer a grant of €2,500 to selected applicants to cover travelling and accommodation costs to work for a minimal period of 1 month in an institution in a different European Country.
